So, I think horror movies are the best because they are thrilling. Nothing can excite you like a horror movie can. They are so thrilling because they are designed to scare you. Horror movies are filled with scary sounds and images, and they are timed to make them as scary as possible, like when a character is walking into their dark basement because they heard a sound down there. The character always walks down the staircase slowly, fumble around for the light switch in the dark, and then turn it on with a jerk. When a character is jumped by a monster, horror movies always build up suspense before it happens. Characters will usually walk into the deepest part of their basement looking for whatever was moving around in the dark and find nothing, and then when they turn around to leave the monster is right behind them. The monster reveal is always very dramatic and tense to make the film as exciting as possible.

Horror movies are some of the most exciting movies out there, but they also show you what you should and shouldn’t do when you encounter scary things in real life. The characters in scary movies often react in very stupid ways when they come face to face with whatever scary thing is chasing them. The characters usually either panic and run away when they should have remained calm, or they ignore their fear and are killed as a result. These characters have usually never been this afraid before, so they do not know how to deal with their fear. We can learn from the mistakes that these characters make. They are not prepared for what they are about to face, so when the time comes, they are not able to handle whatever threat faces them. Horror movies give us a chance to think about how we would react if we were extremely afraid of something. There are not many pieces of media that ask you to consider fear as the cause rather than the effect, so horror movies have created a unique space for themselves among modern movies.

Horror movies are my favorite movies of all time, but there are several other genres that come close. I love thrillers and suspense movies because of how well they hold my attention. They always have very dramatic conflicts and twists that you never expect, so they keep me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I love murder mysteries for a similar reason. Rom coms are also incredible, but for different reasons. Now that I think about it, my ideal movie would probably be a combination of all of these movies. If someone ever makes a horror thriller murder mystery romantic comedy movie I will fall in love with it. I have never heard of a movie like that so I assume that one does not exist, but because I have never heard of it I will assume that it does not. I would find it hard to believe that a movie that so perfectly fits my taste could exist without me hearing about it.
